Rap star plays stunning acoustic guitar cover of Bob Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright”

It’s not uncommon to see a famous musician cross different music genres successfully.

A lot of talented performers can stun the audience regardless of what they do onstage. Here is a perfect example of Austin Richard Post’s acoustic video. Better known as an American singer, rapper and songwriter Post Malone, he hit a home run with the 2015 debut single “White Iverson” and has kept piling on the hits ever since.

If you only know Post Malone from the radio, this video is bound to surprise you.

The video was filmed before Post Malone became famous and before he had a number one album.

Post was just a kid from Dallas, Texas who was still using his real name to sing videos. Up until then, he mostly sang folk songs. As the video begins, he sits in a dark room with a lot of guitars and musical equipment behind him and wears a shirt with an American flag on it. The video is simple, raw, and captivating. There is no auto-tune; it is just him and the acoustic guitar doing wonders together.

When Post begins to sing, you can hear how unapologetically talented he is.

One charming thing about young Post’s performance is the fact that he excused his hair in the video’s description box.

We bet that the young, humorous boy from this video never dreamed of reaching the stardom the way he did seven years later! The video touches hearts because it somehow reminds us of all of our beginnings and the way life changes on our way to any life goals.

In this video, Post is the definition of “never judge a book by its cover.”

The ability to play multiple music genres is always impressive.

Many viewers agree that this brilliant guy should do an acoustic album. We’re guessing that Bob Dylan would be very pleased to hear this cover and how great it turned out—though it’s hard to imagine what a Post Malone and Bob Dylan collaboration would sound like! When Post sings this song, he makes it sound like a love song. It is smooth and you could listen to his voice forever.

A country cover artist who became a rap artist is proof that there are countless ways to make your way into the music industry.

“Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright” feels very real, and we can say that Post Malone definitely touched hearts with the video.

His talent managed to break the assumption that rappers can’t sing when he performed this song so beautifully.

Still, Post’s early folk influences can be seen in some of his recent songs like “Circles.”

All controversy aside, it’s not hard to enjoy this performance all on its own. Even if we didn’t know who he would later become, we would still think he was incredibly talented!

Post isn’t alone in covering this song, as it has also been taken on by Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash.

It’s probably hard to do a good cover of such a hit after so many other famous artists have done it.

Even so, Post found a way to make the song his own. The video got more than 10 million views since it was uploaded, and we can understand why. We have to agree with the audience—it would be amazing if Post Malone decided to drop an acoustic album!
